In pains I weep
In worries I weep
In irritation I weep
In confusion I weep
When you speak
I understand not
When I tattle
You comprehend my cries
That I should be attended to
That I am one like you
‘tho a toddler
I weep when I’m wet
I wail when I’m hungry
I sob when I’m suffered
I squall when I’m cold
“M-o-m-m-i-e!”
Forever you read
The weeping me
And translate my wailing
To the real, the inexplicable
Proffering solution
That others couldn’t
After all the gigs
In your round tummy
And the lolls and smiles
In my ballooned couch
I bowed out from you
Stained in blood and grime
Screaming murder
Who wouldn’t weep
At those shears
With lamentation
The weeping me wailed!
“So this is the world!”
