When the worst of storms is headed for your dorm
And you need a rose bed to lie your head
If you don't get one, don't buy one
Simply say Alhamdulillah rather than shed the Nile.

Merciful Allah
Whoever stops that which dishonours his brother, Allah will shield his face from the fire of jahannam
How many times have we seen fellow muslims being dishoured by others only to join the band of laughing on-lookers?
Have you tried giving sadaqa secretly to a person who really was in need of it, only to get this feeling of indescribable joy?
How many times do you look at yourself and the way you worship Allah and come to the conclusion....Allah is truly Most Forgiving, Most Merciful?
How many times do you look around, really, at the blessings and start wondering 'where did I get it right'?
Only to realize that it just won't come to you....
Allah is the best, no, skip that, Allah is Merciful ( I can't even describe what I'm feeling now).

oooh-----esss-----aaah(U.S.A)
Obama's works are going to be his very own undoing....first, how does a country bursting at the seams and drowning in it's own debts lend other countries money running into trillions?
Sounds like me owing the bank mortgage loans and giving someone my already maxed credit card to go buy himself a house....no?
He's got the dumbest of ideas. Now I wonder how he's going to settle the Isreal-Palestine trouble (trouble that won't go away until that which belongs to Ceasar's given to him.....my mother's sayings). I assume he intends to leave Isreal in the lurch...something that has become an American trademark(they leave you to your theatrics when they see you drowning).
To this day, I have wondered why the U.S never intervened in the Egyptian revolution...long as it was, I mean it dragged for what was beginning to look to me like aeons.First it was Tunisia, silence! Next Egypt, silence! Then came the rest of the middle east and LIBYA.....why did the ooh----ess----of -----aaah(U.S.A) not blink in Yemen (still on), why are they blinking like one with short eyelashes to bat away flies in Libya.
Cos' Gadaffi's not 'bending it like beckham'? Wake up Obama, the house 's using you and you know it....they are making you run faster cos they suspect you now suspect you are getting lost in this thick maze of lies the U.S is known for.....no? I don't envy you man, I don't, and man, have you got a date with Allah (S.W.T).
Why any one has to wage a war against Islam baffles me....I thought everyone preached mind your business, I'll mind mine(you skipped that?)
That brings me to the ICC(International Criminal Court)....when's George Bush visiting to stay?
Who make U.S super power sef?
This Labyrinth
The tight woven maze of life
gives way, only for those who are strong
only to those willing to pass through
with a double edged sword
to chop both sides
The labyrinth is unclear,
the patterns unknown
lifestyle desired and undesired
choices wanted, not needed
choices desired, never gotten
The path would never ease itself for any
You've got to fight
for every single atom of thought
that comes to your head
cos' these days they are stolen
even before it's confirmed in your mind
All these, are bridges
for the future,
links for tomorro, bleak or bright
just fight, bleak or bright,
not blindly albeit
lest you may not be able
to justify your actions
if they ask you to, which they will,
They will, they will!!!!!

DEFLATED
Left home in a not so good mood this morning. Reported late for work. To cut to the chase(is it cheese?) work's good, feeling high and all of it. On top of all that I miss my husband at work and I wish that feeling would remain till I get home...but it's only a wish cos by the time I hit the road and I go through traffic jams, bus boy shouts wey your money, passenger yells "e sun fun mi"(create space for me), another eyes you and grumbles that you are seated like u r in ur sitting room, another seats and puts his arm around u like he owns you just because he isn't comfortable in his own seat, driver blasting Pasuma or Saheed Osupa not caring what you think, but you have to listen to what he listens to. You are thinking it's your money?...sorry, wrong bus....and then I'm supposed to still feel lovey after all these? Who will?
Or should I jog home? There's no guarantee that the feeling will remain after this either.
Or should I jog home? There's no guarantee that the feeling will remain after this either.
WEEPING ME
In pains I weep
In worries I weep
In irritation I weep
In confusion I weep
When you speak
I understand not
When I tattle
You comprehend my cries
That I should be attended to
That I am one like you
‘tho a toddler
I weep when I’m wet
I wail when I’m hungry
I sob when I’m suffered
I squall when I’m cold
“M-o-m-m-i-e!”
Forever you read
The weeping me
And translate my wailing
To the real, the inexplicable
Proffering solution
That others couldn’t
After all the gigs
In your round tummy
And the lolls and smiles
In my ballooned couch
I bowed out from you
Stained in blood and grime
Screaming murder
Who wouldn’t weep
At those shears
With lamentation
The weeping me wailed!
“So this is the world!”

OUR STRENGHTS AND WEAKNESSES
Joseph. What was it you said you disliked about King Potiphar’s wife? You declined such an offer at the risk of hunger and incarceration. You were a slave yet you were so ‘swagalicious’ (pardon Emma Iduma); you must have possessed something the King himself never had. I just couldn’t grasp much of your intention then but looking at its aftermath I realized you were either a weakling or some strong stud.
Human disposition comes in different patterns, I mean in terms of natural talents, mannerisms, peculiarities, inbuilt flaws, exceptional traits, latent weakness, salient imperfections or startling qualities.
Imagine a friend who doles out alms the moment a beggar approaches him, you know full well that he has financial challenges, he too needs money about that time but he is weak to a fault-too kind for comfort. Can we say that is a sort of flaw?
Okay, my immediate younger sister is a crazy fan of Arsenal Club. After a couple of occurrences I can safely conclude that at the point of death, she doesn’t mind listening to the latest update about Arsene wenger.
We were once late for a function, as we went past a group of guys discussing football, guess what she told said. “Bro….like you have to excuse me, I don’t think I can make it”. Excuse what? That was a spoiler because this was a cousin’s pre-marriage rites that we needed to attend, but this is one thing she wouldn’t bend for-soccer!
Other people have got some sort of flaws about them. I won’t say it’s a cultivation of bad habits which matured with time; probably something they hardly notice themselves or overlooked yet when put on an opinion table it calls for a recheck.
One should be observant about people’s flaw and know how to handle them because either in inter-personal relationship or marital or work conditions, it helps greatly when you know what your co-worker has got a weak knee for.
A case that readily comes to mind is the case of a co-tenant who, at whatever time of return takes a prodding look at footsteps around his door post, observes his door-knob for any undue possible burglary as if he had inkling that someone was breaking in. yet once he is around, he is as carefree as anything. He allows just anyone to come in or take anything from his room.
Everyone likes kind people, but am sure most ladies would frown at their spouses being kind enough to give an ‘unknown lady’ a lift or to allow a stranded lady pass the night in their matrimonial homes, she may not mind if this gesture is extended to a male. While kindness can be said to be virtue, its context and extent could be tested when some circumstances stare one in the eye. It’s good to maintain a life of balance- you must as an individual identify your strength and weaknesses, some could be natural and others may be self-imposed. Whatever it is, once people know what your flaws or natural weaknesses are, then it is likely that they will leverage over you and gain undue advantage via that opening.
When anger is your undoing, then whatever stimulates your anger must be eschewed, else you will find yourself fighting with everyone all the time, and if you are in the customer relations unit of a firm, your disservice will be costing the firm a lot. Word!

How do I tell Ni-Ni?
How do I tell Ni-Ni
it's a man-eat-man world out there
without scaring her?
How do I explain to her
that the Tunisian Revolution
triggered by Mohammed Bouazizi was a disaster
waiting to happen to that regime?
Why? Absolute greed for power corrupts absolutely!
Bouazizi didn't have to set himself ablaze,
the Revolution was destined to happen
So far, he's only succeeded in making himself
a part of the end time statistics
which he may answer to.....who knows?
How do I tell Ni-Ni
that the world out there,
sometimes, is the big bad wolf
Always huffing and puffing
till it blows you over
if you are not properly fed.....with the right aqeeda?
How do I explain to Ni-Ni
that Mum and Dad may not always be there
every step of the way
not like we don't want to?
How do I tell Ni-Ni
that when things turn
you don't pull out
or give in to undue pressure
You only hold on tighter to the rope of Allah (SWT)?
How do I tell Ni-Ni all of these?
For Ni-Ni is only a few weeks shy of 5months

Ya Allah
My good deeds weigh but a li'l
And the bad ones like the foams of the sea
I want to please Allah
I want to earn his mercies and favours
Ya Rabbil-al-amin
I am taking the necessary steps
Make it easy for me Oh Allah
Make me a part of the Prophet's Ummah
What I've taken so far are faltering steps
Forward today,
Striving, fasting, and reading the Qur'an
Tomorrow, another step back
Ya Malik-ul-Qudoos
Your words make me tremble
Your mercies make me humble
Your patience,Ya Allah, I cannot compare
Your favours, even those, keep me astir
Your promises, Ya Salam, keep me hoping
Your granted protection, Ya Wahid, keep me striving
And the bad ones like the foams of the sea

It's not a hijab
If it hangs around your neck,
when it should be on your head
If it stays on your head only on Fridays
If it comes on top of your head
when you hear the call to prayer
If you keep it on your head but leave out your ears
mickey mouse style
If it stays on only one-half of your head
Leaving some parts of your hair for non-mahram's
If' it's so transparent people can see through
If it's skin-tight not free-flowing
If it's long but figure-hugging
and not free-flowing
It's not a Hijab
and You know it.

What I think...........
What do you do if you owned a school and a student's mother (single) walks up to you to say she's got no money to pay fees this term?
What if another came to you to say "I have joined a thrift society, I'll pay when it gets to my turn, and it doesn't get to her turn until it's the end of the term when another school term's already at the door?
Break down and cry outta pity.....I went quite when I heard this...broke my heart.
